Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): Personalised care

COPD is a complex and heterogeneous disease, posing significant challenges to accurate diagnosis and management, and limiting the effectiveness of the ‘one size fits all’ approach.1,2

Patients with COPD may benefit from a ‘Treatable Traits’ approach, which involves targeting pre-defined phenotypic traits to develop and implement individualised treatment plans.3

Particularly in patients who continue to experience exacerbations, personalised care enables targeting of these Treatable Traits, such as eosinophilic airway inflammation, supporting the use of therapies, that address the underlying disease pathophysiology.3,4
