Herpes zoster (Shingles)
90% of adults in the UK are infected with the Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) that causes shingles.1 1 in 4 people will develop shingles in their lifetime due to VZV reactivation.2
Following primary VZV infection, VZV lies dormant in the sensory dorsal root ganglia.2
VZV reactivation is associated with ageing or immunosuppression, resulting in shingles2
