Endometrial cancer

Endometrial cancer is a type of uterine cancer that originates in the endometrium – the lining of the uterus.1

Endometrial cancer is the most common type of uterine cancer, accounting for ≥90% of cases, with rarer types such as uterine sarcomas (arising from the muscle or connective tissue of the uterus) and other non-endometrial types accounting for the remainder of cases.2 Endometrial cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women in the UK.3,4
Although 1 in 39 women in the UK will develop endometrial cancer in their lifetime, it is estimated that 34% of cases are preventable.3
